Six Hours...
TODAY was incredibly productive!!! I scrapped for six hours. Needless to say I'm tired, my back hurts and my eyes are slightly crossed. Haha. But it was so worth it. I'm 99% done my mini. Now I just need to figure out when to stop!!
I also did a bit of shopping today at Michaels. Got some goodies for one of my next projects. Since I've been doing a lot of cooking, I decided I should make a recipe book. Not a mini, but fun none-the-less. For those of you who do not know me. Prior to a month ago, I NEVER cooked. Never. Now I cook probably 90% of the meals, which I'm okay with. Turns out I actually enjoy cooking. I shared this news over the phone with my grandma last week and she was thrilled for me, which in turn made me very happy. My grandma has to be my favorite person. Anyways, she said I could have some of her recipe books, which I'm so excited for. Actually, I'm mostly excited for the baking recipes. She has the best Christmas baking.
My camera is off getting cleaned, so no photos this time. Hopefully I will have it back in a couple of days!!!
Take care!!!

The Crafting Continues...
I cannot believe the week is half over! I'm getting really excited for the weekend; it's supposed to be clear skies and sunny! I LOVE that!!!!
So, yesterday was a fairly productive crafting day. I got most (or all) of my album done with the exception of the back cover. I'm still not sure what I am going to use the mini for. I know a few posts back I said I would use childhood photos, but now I am thinking I might put photos of our future house. Ha, we haven't bought one yet, but we are getting pretty antsy. Kind of sick of renting, ya know. We have lived on the island just shy of a year now, and we are feeling fairly confident of where we want to live, which neighbourhood, etc. So really, it's just a matter of time before we buy.
Here are some of the pages I completed in order of their appearance in the mini...

Easter Weekend...
All in all I had a great Easter weekend. My husband and I, plus our pup took an impromptu weekend away. We went to Ucluelet, known as Tofino's ugly step-sister. In my humble opinion, I think Ucluelet is a much prettier town than Tofino. But I digress...
We went Whale watching, did some hikes, saw lots of wild life, and were lucky enough to catch some really big waves on our second last day. We received some pretty heart breaking news last week and it was really nice to just get away and spend some time with each other (AND the Dog).
I will post some photos of the whales and sea lions that we saw later on...
So last night while both my boys were sleeping I decided to get some scrapping done. Honestly, I am the slowest scrapper there is. Everything takes forever to complete. I definitely need someone to kick my butt when it comes to getting albums done. Ha-ha.
Here are a few more pages that I managed to complete...please excuse my horrible photo taking ability!

In keeping with my ripped, vintage theme, please enjoy...
So, this is the back side to the red slippers page. I'm going to ad a file folder or something later on when I start adding photos.
This is a standard size invitation envelope that I dirtied up real well. Can you believe that it use to be white?! I love Tim Holtz inks!
And the other side of the envelope. I cut out the library pocket and insert from my Cricut! I love that I can change the sizes with the push of a button!
Have a good day everyone!

Some more Graphic 45...
My husband can't figure out why I would want to do an album with "Wizard of Oz" papers. The reasons are fairly obvious to me. First of all the movie is classic and second, the collection is amazing!! Who needs anymore reasons? NOT I! Ha.
Apparently, my husband needs more reasons because he keeps asking about the album and saying things like, "But...what will you do with it? We don't have kids. Are you going to wait to fill it with pictures? Oh, I know...you could use old halloween photos!" I just smile and nod. To be honest, when I first started this mini I had no idea what I wanted to do with it, but I think I have the perfect idea...
I'm going to fill it with pictures from my childhood, before life got crazy.
I mean, "The Wizard of Oz" is notoriously known for the little red shoes and Dorothy saying, "There's no place like home". Sooooo, my title is gonna be, "There's no place like home", and I'm going to fill it with as many pleasant memories as I can find (and remember). Pretty clever of me, I think.
Anyways, enough blabbering. Here are more photos....
This is the inside cover, I still have to attach some mini file folders.
This page is made up of one envelope I cut in half and then another coin envelope. Both function as pockets for more photos or whatever.
This is the opposite side of the photo directly above. Left side functions as a pocket and the "heart" ticket is only glued down on the left side and bottom, so a photo or journaling can be held in place...
This page is the other half of the envelop I cut. The right side functions as the pocket. The envelope with the scallop design opens and is only glued down on 3 sides, so the Tin Man tag can slide out or more photos can be added behind.
And this is the chipboard page that is peeking out from behind the page in the above photo. This page functions as two pockets as well.
I'm designing this mini so that the pages are layered and peek out when you open the front cover. This way I can keep all the similar colours together. So far I am pretty pleased with how it has turned out. Hope you all enjoy. Bye for now.

The Magic of Graphic 45...
I have been working on a project for some time, now. I have to admit I have been having some trouble with the paper collection. It's my FIRST time using graphic 45 paper and I think that is playing a HUGE factor here. The paper collections are just way to beautiful! I am so nervous that I am going to cut into an 8x8 and totally screw it up. I don't want to WASTE a single scrap of this stuff. It is seriously nice paper guys!!! How do I get over this issue, without going crazy and buying MULTIPLES of my MULTIPLES (yeah, I have a small problem).
Anyways...I have been working with the Magic of Oz collection and I am slowly but surely getting somewhere. It is, however taking much longer then I thought. But seriously guys, I am that type of scrapper. I take my time. I analyze everything. In the end though I am pretty darn pleased with what I have accomplished.
So let me know what you guys think and if you have any tips on how to cut up beautiful paper, please SHARE, please...
Here's another view to show some depth to the cover...
I will TRY and come back tomorrow and post some more pages. Who knows maybe I will get inspired and finish it. Ha, that's a good one! Have a good night everyone. I am off to get some Zzz's.
